About Us

Marina Kairali Samajam was established in 2018 as a small yet passionate group of Malayalees residing in Marina Enclave. The initiative began during the Onam festival
when a few enthusiastic Malayalees decided to come together to celebrate the occasion. Their efforts led them to visit each building, identify Malayalee names from
name boards, and personally reach out to individuals, forming a close-knit group. Our community began with the formation of a WhatsApp group, which laid the foundation
for our first Onam celebration. We take pride in being the first community in Marina Enclave to celebrate a community festival in the Banquet Hall of the Marina Club
House with 12 families and 25 members, marking a significant milestone in our history.

Over time, the number of members steadily grew, transforming into a thriving cultural association. The Onam celebrations of 2019 and 2020 witnessed an increasing
number of participants, reflecting the growing enthusiasm and unity among members.  However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a two-year gap in celebrations.
In 2022, the Onam festival was revived with grandeur, bringing together almost 35 families and 80 members.

Recognizing the community’s growth and the enthusiasm within the group, the core team decided to rechristen the group as Marina Kairali Samajam,  aiming to make the community more organized and meaningful. With this transformation, the samajam adopted a structured agenda along with a clear mission and vision. Our guiding slogan, “All for One and One for All”, embodies the spirit of solidarity—each member stands for the entire community, and the community, in turn, stands by each member in times of need.
